Growing up in the 21st century; childhood is not what it used to be

Children today have such a different childhood – no longer treated as miniature adults, they are given opportunities to play and develop skills that will serve them well when they grow up.

We, parents and caregivers, are privileged guardians of that innocence and potential. We are also constantly challenged and stretched by our charges and need some help.

In the old days, everyone read one book - the Dr. Spock book on raising healthy children.

Today, we have so many options.

From “Bringing up bebe” to “How to Behave So Your Children Will Too!”, advice is often confusing and contradictory.

As a mother of three, a family physician and now co-founder of a cool and effective how to find a caregiver service, I want to share here some of the advice I have come across that has helped me personally. These tips and tricks have also helped me help thousands who face child care issues every day, be it parents, guardians, babysitters and nannies!
